First post at the beginning of the school year

Edwin is 18, lives in Dorchester, MA and is the youngest of four boys in his family. As a child, he lived in Puerto Rico with his grandmother and with his parents, when they weren’t working in the United States. When he was 12, he and his parents permanently moved to Dorchester.

Edwin was expelled from Madison Park in Roxbury his first year of high school after skipping and getting into trouble with friends.  He repeated his freshman year in 2005 when he entered the Social Justice Academy, a new small school at the Hyde Park Education Complex in Hyde Park, MA.

As of this first posting, according to his school, Edwin is a junior in terms of his academic standing and has passed the English and math MCAS. He’s taking on-line courses to make up the missing credits from junior year on top of his 12^th grade course load. Edwin’s goal is to graduate this year.
